Don't Call Me Baby Lyrics

You and me we had an opportunity
And we could make it something reaally cool
But you, you think I'm not the kind of girl
I'm here to tell ya baby I know how to rock your world

Don't think I'm not that strong
I'm the one to take you on
Don't underestimate me boy
I'll make you sorry you were born
You don't know me the way you really should
You're sure misunderstood

Chorus :
Don't call me baby
You got to know that baby that will never do
You know I don't belong to you
It's time you knew I'm not your baby
I belong to me
So don't call me baby

Behind my smile is my IQ
I must admit this does not sit with the likes of you
You're really sweet, mmm, you're really nice
But didn't mama ever tell ya not to play with fire

Don't think that I am that strong
I'm the one to take you on
Don't underestimate me boy
I'll make you sorry you were born
You don't know me the way you really should
You're sure misunderstood

Chorus :
Don't call me baby
You got to know that baby that will never do
You know I don't belong to you
It's time you knew I'm not your baby
I belong to me
So don't call me baby

Chorus :
Don't call me baby
You got to know that baby that will never do
You know I don't belong to you
It's time you knew I'm not your baby
I belong to me
So don't call me baby

This is a lovely song with bright sassy lyrics. Nobody wants to be taken for granted and the lines "It's time you knew I'm not your baby. I belong to me," reflects that. He has underestimated her and he is about to get a surprise. The song promises it could be a nice surprise ("I know how to rock your world") if he is man enough to admit he was wrong.

Yes, a completely sassy song. Very catchy & dancy. It's about a girl who gets fed up with a boy. Boy takes her forgranted, girl senses being taken advantage... girl erupts & dumps the stupid boy.

Yeah, I wish I was that strong when it comes to men as well! :p But this song brings back many nice memories from the best time of my life (2000) when it would be played on tv while me and my first guy -a dance music lover - would be together. I learned to enjoy its sexy and classic tone and that "independent women" meaning, and I still do, though it's bittersweet in a way.

The song's meaning is obvius: a girl who is fucking fed up with a guy that try to get off with her.

It remembers the last months of 1999... BRUTAL SONG!!

This song is a little ridiculous. I'm a man, and I own several things, none of which I call "baby". I do not call my car "baby". I own some dinnerware, which I do not call "baby". Nor do I call my computer "baby" (very often). I don't even call my clothes "baby"! And I for sure own them. I just don't see where calling something "baby" and ownership come into play.

My Opinion

But it's alright for her to call him baby, in the line "You got to know that baby that will never do"? Pfft. Sh'yeah right. Still a boss choon though.
