Heavy Lyrics
Complicate this world you wrapped for me
I'm acquainted with your suffering
And all your weight
It falls on me
It brings me down
And all your weight
It falls on me
It falls on me
Hold me up to all whom you've deceived
Promises you break you still believe
Collective Soul
Complicate this world you wrapped for me
I'm acquainted with your suffering
And all your weight
It falls on me, it brings me down
And all your weight
It falls on me, it falls on me
Hold me up to all whom you've deceived
Promises you break you still believe
And all your weight
It falls on me, it brings me down
And all your weight
It brings me down, it brings down
And all your weight
It falls on me, it brings me down
And all your weight
It falls on me, it falls on me
And all your weight
It falls on me, it brings me down
And all your weight
It falls on me, it falls on me
I'm acquainted with your suffering
It falls on me
It brings me down
And all your weight
It falls on me
It falls on me
Promises you break you still believe

I always kind of saw this song as being from Jesus' POV. Maybe it's with me being a Christian, but I seem to find religious meanings for majority of Collective Soul's songs.
"Complicate this world you wrapped for me I'm acquainted with your suffering"
This could be Jesus speaking to God in the first line with how God sent his Son to this world to help us. The 2nd line is about how Jesus understands our sufferings and can help us through them.
"And all your weight It falls on me It brings me down And all your weight It falls on me It falls on me"
That's pretty much what we should do as Christians. Give our worries to Jesus, and he'll take care of them for us.
"Hold me up to all whom you've deceived Promises you break you still believe"
This pretty much says that we should hold Jesus up and speak of him to non-believers. It will help spread the Gospel. Then even if we are sinners, Jesus will forgive us if we ask and decide to change.
This song means just as it sounds. The singer obviously thinks that someone is weighing him down with there emotions.
yes, this is a religious song. they are Christians ans a lot of their songs are about God.
He is despised and rejected by men; a man of sorrows, and acquainted with suffering; and we hid as it were our faces from him; he was despised, and we esteemed him not. Isaiah 53:3
A prophecy about the Jewish messiah, so therefore believed to be referring to Jesus by Christians.
And all your weight It falls on me It brings me down And all your weight It falls on me It falls on me
To me this means someone that still loves someone else but the inevitable is bound to happen when the other person is repeatedly weighing them down and making them feel less human.
Bout how a person can weigh you down, and to not let others pull you down. Possibly the most famous Collective Soul song ever.
Yeah, I don't think the lyrics are too complicated, the songs obviously seems to be about having someone else's burden thrust upon you. I love the guitar lick at the beginning with stereo from one side of the car to the other while driving! :P
great song
To me this song means what it pretty much says. Someone is pushing him down with their problems, and weighing him down. Or he simply doesn't like them, and they keep pulling him behind by tagging along.
Everyone's right, except that it's not just someone weighing that person down, but their parent who has a lot of mental baggage and stuff.
