D'Yer Wanna Be a Spaceman? Lyrics
Since I was Kid
Your bringing back those memories
Of the thing that we did
You're hanging round and climbing trees
Pretending to fly
D'yer wanna be a spaceman and live in the sky
And how many kids
And you forgot
About the things that we did
The town where we're living
Has made you a man
And all of your dreams
Are washed in the sand
It's alright
Who are you and me to say
What's wrong and what's right
Do you still feel like me
We sit down here
And we shall see
We can talk
And find common ground
And we can just forget
About feeling down
We can just forget
About life in this town.
Change as you're growing old
You don't wanna be no spaceman
You just want gold
Allthe dream stealers
Are lying in wait
But if you wanna be a spaceman
It's still not too late
It's alright
Who are you and me to say
What's wrong and what's right
Do you still feel like me
We sit down here
And we shall see
We can talk
And find common ground
And we can just forget
About feeling down
We can just forget
About life in this town.
Change as you're growing old
You don't wanna be no spaceman
You just want gold Dream stealers
Are lying in wait
But if you wanna be a spaceman
It's still not too late
It's alright
Who are you and me to say
What's wrong and what's right
Do you still feel like me
We sit down here
And we shall see
We can talk
And find common ground
And we can just forget
About feeling down
We can just forget
About life in this town
I really like this song. Dreams certainly seem to change as we grow older; it's funny to look back and remember what we wanted to be when we were innocent children.
i fink this tune is really underrated, its a great song about the dreams u have as a kid but you never end up succeedin wiv them,it has a great meaning which is kind of disguised in the cheesy lyrics, overall a great tune
i just love this song its cool, it has a mad rime to it
from the UK single Shakermaker
I love this, although it sounds quite simple it's incredibly catchy and has a good rhythm. About dreaming, what you want to be, changing your dreams as you live life...
Yes, Fade Away is a much superior song than this one. Not much effort is put into this song, the lyrics sound like as if Liam wrote it.
Brilliant Song, it's much like "Fade Away" because of it's context but I find that I like this song better, it's soft and Noel has the perfect voice to guide you through it. I doubt Liam wrote it as Noel wrote all of Oasis's Material up until about 2000.
I love the line "all the dream stealers are lying in wait"
this is a very good, simple sweet song... kinda like yellow submarine in a way.
"Fade Away" and this song do have similar meanings, but I'd say that this is presented in a more dreamy tone than "Fade Away". Seems a bit more happy and up-beat, which is respectable enough for it to be its own, great song. And not to mention the optimistic "it's not too late" line towards the end. Makes for an excellent, simple song, perfect for relaxation.
