Dime-A-Dance Romance Lyrics

Maybe she's just another sweet thingJust a lookin' to go for a rideLookin' to see what it's all aboutBefore she can be satisfied
Or maybe she's cool and still goin' to schoolAnd out lookin' for a manTo write a book or make her cookOr hold her dishpan hands
She could a duchess or even a dameOr a lady from over the hillYes, come on honey what's the name of your thrillWe'll try to shake itCome on baby, let's find that old hillWe're bound to make itMood's high and I'm dryCome on
{??}
Queen of Spades that ain't been playedSo she knows she's well endowed{??} witch with a nervous twitchAnd the nature of a clown{??} certified {??}Answer to a sailor's dream{??} to make things what they seem
Oh you dreamer, sweet redeemerTake me for what you willYeah, come on honey what's the name of your thrillWe're gonna shake itCome on baby, let's find that hillWe're bound to make itMood's high and I'm dryCome on, come on

Cover art for Dime-A-Dance Romance lyrics by Steve Miller Band

A young sailor fully loaded with amanous testosterone just off a long voyage and on the town/port/village. He is more than up for some action and fantasizes the possibilities. . . I always heard "She could a duchess or even a dame or . . ON A DAIRY FARM over the hill.' I like that image . . buxom milkmaid. , , , "Back-street joy ride certified bona fide Answer to a sailor's dream . . " This sailor would welcome a somewhat experienced wench with appetites to match his own. I was that young man back in 1970. This driving, rollicking number expressed my feedings soooo well. What a rush of hopeful anticipation. A great song.
