Sugar Never Tasted So Good Lyrics

Sugar never tasted so good
Sugar never tasted so good
Sugar never tasted good to me
Yeah

Until her eyes crossed over
Until her mind crossed over
Until her soul fell next to me

Now
If the wrinkle that is in your brain
Has given you quite a steam
Your fingers have become a crane
Pulling on these puppet strings

Yeah

What a feeling that's begun
What a feeling that's begun

What a feeling that's begun
What a feeling that's begun

Alright

I felt just like a baby
Until I held a baby
What a fool this boy can be

Yeah

And her thougths like a daisy
How my mind gets lazy
I must've been crazy not to see

Alright

If the wrinkle that is in your brain
Has given you quite a steam
Your fingers have become a crane
Your fingers have become a crane
Your fingers have become a crane
Pulling on these puppet strings

Water never tasted so good
Water never tasted so good
Water never tasted good to me

I'm suprised no one interperated any subtle sexual mesage in this. "Sugar never tasted good to me Until her eyes crossed over " Now what could he be tasteing that wasn't so appealing until this girls eyes crossed? Until he realized how it made her feel. And what kinda of puppet strings could he be pulling that would make him feel like his fingers had become a "crane", moving someone around. Well if none of that means anything to you, then try to image why when all this is done and she happy, he is so happy to taste water again.

i agree with petra. i love this song but have little clue what exactly it's about- a good thing that turned into a manipulative relationship when she showed her true colors?

I think josh has a good point... that's what I got out of it, and people shouldn't get upset about it.

I think it also has an element of coming of age, with

"I felt just like a baby Until I held a baby "

with the second baby referring to either the girl or the moment/experience
