This is a pretty long track, it's about 6 minutes long I think?
It features some pretty whacked middle-eastern styled beats or something for the intro, and it continues for the first few verses,...
but then song pulls into classic screaming trees mode,...
The song has some pretty obvious religious references , and seems to describe the total misery the writer has, that who ever left him may mean more than salvation itself,..
This song is awsum, the middle eastern part is awsum. And although it is a long track it doesnt seem dragged out.
this song was taken from an old christian song called "Hold On," or "Gospel Plow." The Screaming Trees obviously used it for the beginning, making direct references to it ("Mary had a golden chain" refers to the line "Mary had three links of chain, every link spelled Jesus' name")
