Alice Said Lyrics
Alice said, "Come on in now, it's time for bed."
The hour's quite late, I need a nap to clear my head
Laid it down, the pillow softly calls to you and me
I've been set down, bounced all around
Now I can't see, blind happily.
Alice said, "Have you forgotten what we'll be?"
Concealed in smiles that come too late
Now I can't see
The sun goes down, thoughts go astray
She might take my soul away
Don't close the shades until the twilight fades.
Yep!

I think this song is about trying to fight off addiction, and seeing your life slowly changing schedule to revolve around your addiction.
one of my favorite trees songs... but i have no idea what it's about.
First i just wanna say, like the other 20 people who wrote about these guys' song) these guy are amazing and didn't get the cretid they deserved. and they also remind me of The Door; mainly because of Makr lanegan's voice.
Anyway i think this has somthing to do with drugs. Alice is a symbol for that drug. it's just a thought. this is a really cool song though, especially since Chris Cornell (lead singer Soundgarden & Audioslave) does some backup in the end. showing u these guys had respect from some of the other bands of the time.
What the hell does that list have anything to do with the freakin song?
way to soil awesomeness,...
I thought it had something to do with Alice in Chains but callingmorningstar is stupid for his commnt that made no sense
I agree with Tallbob that Alice could be a drug. I've only ever heard "Alice" used to refer to LSD, but the lyrics and Lanegan's known habits point to her being heroin.
