What a great song indeed! I think what it means is that when you've lived all your life in a town and you get to a point when all the people that you see and the places you go to is full of memories, bad or good ones, and it makes you wish that one day you'll get out of the place cause you can see yourself having a better life somewhere else. I think I live in a town exactly like the one mentioned here. With its lies, its harms, and its charms.

I think everyone can relate to what its saying, and its the greatest thing for you to listen to when your stuck someplace for a while that you really dont want to be, but you know that some day that it will all change. The melody and strings in this song are so beautiful, i just love this song!!
I grew up in a small town. This song I can really relate to then I got an offer to move to London. I remember playing this song lots just before moving cos I couldn't believe my luck of being given the chance to get out. I was worn down.
To me it's not necessarily about a place but it might also be about a situation, a relationship., etc and you're stuck in it and need to move on and leave it behind.
It's so simple, but it's still amazing and meaningful.
