I was riding
Riding on my bike
Me with my friend
We're so alike

Am I all alone
She said all we
Have is this
We just had to stop
And share a kiss

Am I all alone
One hot minute and I'm in it come and get it
One hot minute and I'm in it come and get it
One hot minute and I'm in it come and get it

If I chase it I might waste it, come and spit it

Am I all alone
Am I all alone

Sitting in the fire
Get along and have some fun
Floating to be higher
Maybe I'm your special one
Silent testifier
Breathe the moon and eat the sun
Sitting in the fire

Close your eyes and click your heels
Can you believe how good it feels

Am I all alone
One hot minute and I'm in it come and get it
One hot minute and I'm in it come and get it
One hot minute and I'm in it come and get it
If I chase it I might waste it come and spit it

Am I all alone
Am I all alone

Sitting in the fire
Get along and have some fun
Floating to be higher
Maybe I'm your special one
Silent testifier
Breathe the moon and eat the sun
Sitting in the fire

Say goodbye to where you got it now
Pay your father, pay your twenty, take a bow
Say goodbye to where you buy you got it now
Pay your mamma, pay your father take a bow
Say goodbye to where you buy you got it now
Pay your father, pay your twenty, take a bow

Three pounds of love inside my skull
A million more lives it's never dull
Just a few times spun, spun around the sun
A couple more or less and then we're done

Sitting in the fire, I get along and have some fun
Floating to be higher, oh, maybe I'm your special one
Silent testifier
I'll breathe the moon and eat the sun
Sitting in the fire

Ahh.. Can't believe - only 2 comments?! Imo, all One Hot Minute CD is (lyrical) an acid trip diary.. Sad, melancholic, painfull. AK searches the way out of Minotaur's Maze (his longing of Hillel, John - but not only, there is sth about River Phoenix and Kurt Cobain - all of them were lost by drugs (well, John was on the way;)). But he can't find it (the way out)! So maybe.. Drugs are only way to be with them?

That was my 0,03 PLN ;)

I got back to One Hot Minute 2 months ago. And I find it much more attractive.. I think I understand more. I love this CD.

This is definitely a sort of musical journey through a trip. Look at this song and compare it to others off the album such as "My Friends" or "Airplane" and you'll see the highs and lows of drug use

yeah im actually now getting into what they mean by this album and can now listen to it all at once without stopping. see i have wee problem with listening to drug meaning songs and i can actually react to the songs more than ever. i think that AK felt really alone at this time in his life cuz flea was too busy looking after his family, looking after john and trying to play guitar for dave that he wasnt paying mush attention to AK and he decided to go on drugs (acid trips) and he felt lots of regert put on him like a big load of very heavy drugs. sorry im almst in tears now soory if i misplaced anything on this. i had to get all this off my chest thank you.

this album is all about drugs, losts and pain, but the first time u listen to some songs like aeroplane u think that it's happy but it's still sad, that's what so fantastic about the red hots, they can create anything they want

two things, first Navaro claims this is one of the few songs on the album that sound too "pop" so he doesn't like it. Which makes me love the song even more. Second, JF claims to have never heard anything off of this album, that's bs I'm sorry, you'd trip over hearing warped, or aeroplane somewhere...AK definitely had to be lit when he wrote this song

"Close your eyes and click your heels Can you believe how good it feels?"

This is the single greatest line in any song. It's so powerful and beautiful.

Holiday

@[Diderik:33655] "Your a holiday!" Was a popular term used in the 50s/60s to compliment someone on their all around. For example, not only are they beautiful, but they are fun and kind too ... just an all around "holiday". I think your first comment is closer to being accurate. The singer/song writers state "Millions of eyes can see, yet why am i so blind!? When the someone else is me, its unkind its unkind". I believe hes referring to the girl toying with him and using him. He wants something deeper with her, thats why he allows himself to be as a puppet (even though for her fun and games) as long as it makes her happy. But he knows deep down that she doesnt really want to be serious with him and thats what makes him.

Mountain Song
Jane's Addiction
Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell gives Adam Reader some heartfelt insight into Jane’s Addiction's hard rock manifesto "Mountain Song", which was the second single from their revolutionary album Nothing's Shocking. Mountain song was first recorded in 1986 and appeared on the soundtrack to the film Dudes starring Jon Cryer. The version on Nothing's Shocking was re-recorded in 1988. "'Mountain Song' was actually about... I hate to say it but... drugs. Climbing this mountain and getting as high as you can, and then coming down that mountain," reveals Farrell. "What it feels to descend from the mountain top... not easy at all. The ascension is tough but exhilarating. Getting down is... it's a real bummer. Drugs is not for everybody obviously. For me, I wanted to experience the heights, and the lows come along with it." "There's a part - 'Cash in now honey, cash in Miss Smith.' Miss Smith is my Mother; our last name was Smith. Cashing in when she cashed in her life. So... she decided that, to her... at that time, she was desperate. Life wasn't worth it for her, that was her opinion. Some people think, never take your life, and some people find that their life isn't worth living. She was in love with my Dad, and my Dad was not faithful to her, and it broke her heart. She was very desperate and she did something that I know she regrets."

I Can't Go To Sleep
Wu-Tang Clan
This song is written as the perspective of the boys in the street, as a whole, and what path they are going to choose as they get older and grow into men. (This is why the music video takes place in an orphanage.) The seen, and unseen collective suffering is imbedded in the boys’ mind, consciously or subconsciously, and is haunting them. Which path will the boys choose? Issac Hayes is the voice of reason, maybe God, the angel on his shoulder, or the voice of his forefathers from beyond the grave who can see the big picture and are pleading with the boys not to continue the violence and pattern of killing their brothers, but to rise above. The most beautiful song and has so many levels. Racism towards African Americans in America would not exist if everyone sat down and listened to this song and understood the history behind the words. The power, fear, pleading in RZA and Ghostface voices are genuine and powerful. Issac Hayes’ strong voice makes the perfect strong father figure, who is possibly from beyond the grave.

Punchline
Ed Sheeran
Ed Sheeran sings about missing his former partner and learning important life lessons in the process on “Punchline.” This track tells a story of battling to get rid of emotions for a former lover, whom he now realized might not have loved him the same way. He’s now caught between accepting that fact and learning life lessons from it and going back to beg her for another chance.
