This song makes me feel really good, but makes me cry at some point, it is so wonderful. I wish I have a love like this.
I sing this song to my 4 year old daughter, and she asks, "Why are you crying!" Even though it's about a boyfriend/girlfriend situation, the lyrics speak of something else to me. I love you Little Puff!

From the moment my daughter was born (never mind what year!), and all through her early years, I associated this song with her. I always assumed that JT wrote the song for Carly Simon, as a lover-to-lover song. So I have always felt like I was borrowing the song and adapting its intended expression to my father-daughter love. Imagine my surprise today, for the first time, reading from another commenter that JT wrote the song for HIS daughter!
