This is dillinger's most powerful song. "Sundrip Devil Scratched Out My Eyes" such a startling poetic genius right there. All the lyrics just remind me of some surreal nightmare sequence in which a kid tries to win a girl over by destroying cupid altogether. Just Devestating stuff here
this song is simple and not allegorical in any way...people think way too much about fucking songs.
simply, it is about a boy that is crazy about a girl, I mean crazy. Trying to force love on her. I kind of get a more sinister feel as if she does not love him back, no one will ever have her.

But seriously, the terrible irony of the lines "I've come to cut cupid's heart out; I've come to take your breath away," if they were in reference to rape, would be absolutely perfect.
Umm definitely not about rape.....Dillinger's not that kind of band....its actually about someone who is superficially good and sweet, but inside is a traitor or a bitch or something along those lines...
that def. reminds me of "sugar coated sour"....but then again i guess if you look deeper the meanings may not be that similar.....
