Bad Days Lyrics
You're sort of stuck where you are
But in your dreams you can buy expensive cars
Or live on Mars and have it your way
And you hate your boss at your job
But in your dreams you can blow his head off
In your dreams, show no mercy
And all your bad days will end
And all your bad days will end
You have to sleep late when you can
And all your bad days will end
And all your bad days will end
And all your bad days will end
You have to sleep late when you can
And all your bad days will end
But in your dreams you can buy expensive cars
Or live on Mars and have it your way
But in your dreams you can blow his head off
In your dreams, show no mercy
And all your bad days will end
You have to sleep late when you can
And all your bad days will end
And all your bad days will end
You have to sleep late when you can
And all your bad days will end

Wayne's drug of choice is imagination.
Talk about great lyrics. What an excellent blend of cynicism and (false?) hope, like being in a constant drunken, happy stupor and believing your own lies. great songwriting.
i love it. In your dreams you can blow his head off... ya know how great that would be. :)
This is the perfect song. I love the message too, that our dreams are how we should deal with our troubles, instead of hurting people or turning to other things.
This song is so well done. I never know whether to cheered up or depressed by it.
yeah in your dreams you can show no mercy
This song is so awesome. I think the things they talk about in this song, are kind of universal, almost everyone feels trapped in their life at some point and nobody likes their boss.
Being asleep is so much better than real life...
I know it's cheesy but I think the song is about the importance of the "little things" in life, like sleeping in and fantasizing about a bloody gun battle in the workplace. If you can take enough pleasure in the small stuff that makes you happy you can ignore seemingly big problems, like your boss being horrible, because you come to realise that they're not that important.
Based on the music video I totally agree. God damnit I love that video. It's such a perfect representation of the song and how completely bizarre Wayne Coyne and the band are.
'You have to sleep late when you can and all your bad days will end' What I understand by this is that if you keep awake at night you will sleep (and dream) all day, therefore you will not have any bad days! Brilliant.
