Belaruse no longer feels the sun
But it's under the skin of everyone
Belaruse forgotten by the blind
That is until the next time
Remember all your yesterdays
In the deep blue
Before the world came
And rested there on you
And if the sun and moon
Were both to doubt
Then sure enough
They'd both go out
When you can't walk in your field
Feel water in your hands
You've been touched by the doubt of man
But it's under the skin of everyone
Belaruse forgotten by the blind
That is until the next time
In the deep blue
Before the world came
And rested there on you
Were both to doubt
Then sure enough
They'd both go out
When you can't walk in your field
Feel water in your hands
You've been touched by the doubt of man

Could this possibly be about the Chernobyl disaster? The explosion of a nuclear power plant in Ukraine? There was a place to the north called 'Belarus' that was also threatened... I'm not sure on this, but would love to know.
Oh - one other reason for my suggestion... On the front cover of the single (on the audio cassette, at least) there is the radioactive symbol - I think this makes my case pretty likely...
Yea spot on. Belarus is a country just north of chernobyl (actually in ukraine) that was the mostly badly affected by the disaster. "Belaruse no longer feels the sun But it's under the skin of everyone" refers to radiation poisoning and "When you can't walk in your field, Feel water in your hands" referring to the radiation that has affected the land. Thats how I see it anyhow.
This is definitely about the Chernobyl accident-forgotten until next time.
I think the title "bealruse" is referring to the "Ruse" put on by the soviet union to cover up chernobyl and deny that it happened.
