Barrel of the Gun Lyrics

In a strange land
far from these shores
lay two man and a woman
killed by the law

In no matter what country
under the sun
you can't meter justice
throught the barrel of a gun

A car bomb they say
the S.A.S. on offense
shot in the back
makes no difference

shoot to kill
'til both sides have their fill
'til both sides have their martyrs
and all the kids have no fathers

'til you mothers have no sons
and the battle it is won
when both sides
they have lost
all the blood that it cost

Whoever you are and wherever you come from, one thing is constant - dishing out justice by using violence or force is wrong. Basically the opposite of what Mao Tse Tung was preaching in China.

It is all about the 3 IRA members shot in Gibraltar because they thought they were going to plant a car bomb, they were unarmed and shot in cold blood when they were ment to have been arrested, using murder for justice is wrong and the British government condemns other countrys doing it yet get away with doing it themselves

A private eye front cover at the time had one commando saying to another "why did you shoot him eighteen times?" and the other replying "I ran out of bullets".

I don't think that humanity will ever learn that violence (inhumanity) cannot solve our problems. I also find it disturbing what governments can get away with by playing the Terrorism card, now even more than back then.
