Little Discourage Lyrics
I found a mountain on my own (I’m encouraged)
Trust history to say it’s unknown (it’s discouraging)
There’s a seventeen contest in my own home (discourage)
Sick of seventeen contests in my own home (discourage)
Don’t cross the road, you’re under a spell
A broken violin (discourage)
Don’t cross the road, you’re under a spell
Of broken violins
All I need is a little discourage
All I need is a little discourage
All I need is a little discourage
All I need is a little discourage
All I need is a little discourage
I ran away from my own telephone (discourage)
It rings to tell you what the future holds in store, so......
There’s a lack of confidence at home (discourage)
When a seventeen contest fills your own home (discourage)
Put your trust in courage, because no one can tell
The broken violent.
Put your trust in courage, no one can tell
The broken violent.
All I need is a little discourage
(the world knows what I need, but it’s proving far too hard for me)

'Of broken violins'
I always thought he said: "You're broke & violent"
i thought it said broken firemen :-/
i fort it sed vorken fireworks, but that makes zero sense in any way, so i guess i goin with you're broken and violent. good song 2 this one is. my last summer had a lot of this song in it. it was fun.
This song is saying like everything you do, it always backfires because people are always there throwing it back in your face -"I found a mountain on my own, trust history to say it's unknown" and it is discouraging to realise that nothing you do is ever good enough for them. We constantly change ourselves to suit their ideals but eventually you are going to realise you can never be who they want. It breaks your confidence down and through saying "put your trust in courage" he is just saying to beleive in yourself, you have the strength to stand up for what you are and to be yourself. You don't have to constantly try and please other people. I think this song is quite hedonistic-you should pursue pleasure and tell everyone else to go fuck themselves. Anyone wants to talk about Idlewild and other kickass bands then feel free to e-mail me :-)
I think he sings "broken violin" the first time, and "broke and violent" the second time.
I just thought it was strange to find this song lyric "a little discourage" echoing in my brain today. and then because life is bizarre, it's been exactly 10 years since anyone shared their love for this song. have a nice day now
