No Aloha Lyrics
No bye, no aloha
Gone with a rock promoter
A rock promoter
I know, I saw
And now may die
O the treats
Saw it on the wall
Motherhood means mental freeze
(Freezeheads)
No aloha
I know, I saw
And now may die
No bye, no aloha
Gone with a rock promoter
A rock promoter
I know, I saw
And now may die
Gone with a rock promoter
A rock promoter
I know, I saw
And now may die
O the treats
Saw it on the wall
Motherhood means mental freeze
(Freezeheads)
No aloha
I know, I saw
And now may die
No bye, no aloha
Gone with a rock promoter
A rock promoter
I know, I saw
And now may die

this great song, released in august of 1993, was written and performed in anticipation of an event that would take place in august 2006:
somebody would make out with a local rock promoter, with whom they were mildly infatuated, and then be abrubtly dropped as their myspace friend.
i just discovered this song the other day, which happened to be the same day that a local rock promoter i made out with and was still mildly infatuated with deleted me as his friend on myspace, abrubtly
so i associate it with fantasy, and then in reality meaning nothing to people
This song is way too short

The song is pretty easy to break down. It's about Kim saying goodbye to having a normal life. It's about how you never say goodbye to the past, you just move on from it without ever realizing it until you're far down the road of life.
It's about how she realized she was never going to be a mother, never going to live like her parents, never going to be Mrs. John Murphy. It's about her being at peace with her life choices. If she were to die, she would have no regrets... Or at least, that's what the "And now may die" line implies.

good song
it's a good one...so is it's sister song Cro-Aloha
Great tune. About the pressures of fame maybe...?
it's my new favorite song by the breeders, though
I just figured it was a travelogue, describing a trip to play a show in Hawaii and her mother came along. I love the line "Motherhood means mental freeze." It describes everybody's mother.
