at first i thought the anthem of the song was 'dont ask why'
but then i realized 'turn around/ to the fool/ who believed/ dont ask why'

This song has unusually clear lyrics for a MBV song, though Kevin's singing is not at all ethereal in the way Belinda's is, so lacks that distinctive sound that MBV has.
Still, being able to decipher the lines reveals that consistent theme of love, romance troubled relationships that permeates the MBV library.
This song is about fucking up a relationship and believing it not too late for making up... or so I think.. =-o
