i believe this song is about enlightenment. I think "temporarily blind" refers to the lack of insight of humanities origin. Acknowledging that all the answers given to us are merely other's theories allows one to think independently which brings about recognition of the soul, or higher power. yeah...i think these are some enlightened guys. genius. "There's one in everyone" i think is referring to the soul that so much of humanity is waiting for, or tyring to fill with material things and whatnot.
i had to interrupt some serious homework for this but i think, about a billion listens in, i've finally found what i think this song means. "temporarily blind" is, of course, not about not being able to see for a bit, it's about how in any given situation, we don't know everything there is to know. we actually know very little, hence the line, "i need to know where you're coming from." i guess this only holds up for so many of the lyrics in the song, but i do think it's what doug's trying to get at here

Ugh, I wish I could understand this song. Particularly wish I could make out the words in the outro, which is awesome. I assume it's about not paying attention to a friend or lover at some point (being temporarily blind), causing trouble, and trying to explain that it was a misunderstanding that could happen to anyone: "Turn your back on this hating... turn your back on this waiting" (and let's be friends again). It would take all day to explain what went wrong. Maybe the unintelligible stuff is imitating the explanation that the friend doesn't get.
So I don't have anything insightful to say, but when (L)Doug(L) says "the thought of you waiting for so long" like it just kills him that someone is holding back or afraid of something he knows they should just do makes me feel like doing something crazy right now.
