I Hope, I Think, I Know Lyrics
They're trying hard to put me in my place
And that is why I gotta keep running
The future's mine and its no disgrace
'Cause in the end the past means nothing
You tell me I'm free then you tie me down
And from my chains I think it's a pity
What did it cost you to wear my crown?
You don't like me, why don't you admit it?
I feel a little down today
And I ain't got much to say
But you're gonna miss me when I'm not there
And you know I don't care, you know I don't care
As we beg and steal and borrow
Life is hit and miss and this
I Hope, I Think, I Know
And if I ever hear the names you call
And if I stumble catch me when I fall
'cause baby after all, you'll never forget my name
You're trying hard to put me in my place
And that is why I gotta keep running
The future's mine and its no disgrace
'Cause in the end your life means nothing
D'you feel a little down today?
Bet you ain't got much to say?
Who's gonna miss you when you're not there?
You know we don't care, you know we don't care
And that is why I gotta keep running
The future's mine and its no disgrace
'Cause in the end the past means nothing
And from my chains I think it's a pity
What did it cost you to wear my crown?
You don't like me, why don't you admit it?
And I ain't got much to say
But you're gonna miss me when I'm not there
And you know I don't care, you know I don't care
Life is hit and miss and this
I Hope, I Think, I Know
And if I ever hear the names you call
And if I stumble catch me when I fall
'cause baby after all, you'll never forget my name
And that is why I gotta keep running
The future's mine and its no disgrace
'Cause in the end your life means nothing
Bet you ain't got much to say?
Who's gonna miss you when you're not there?
You know we don't care, you know we don't care

I think this song can be about a band, about Oasis. "They're trying hard to put me in my place, And that is why I've gotta keep running" - it tells that people want to typecast them as "beatles wannabies" or one season wonder, so they have to keep searching their own style and do new things to avoid getting pigeon-holed. And chorus can mean that now they are being accused of "borrowing" and "recycling" music, doing things already done and even sometimes plagiarism, but they are great in their own way and after years will be mentioned and remembered as one on the greatest bands ever.
i dont see why Noel wouldnt like this song.. lyrically its great.. the song is just a nice one and it fuckin rocks.. oasis fuckin rucks.. Noel's my hero
I used to like oasis very much, until recently. And this is one of my favotite songs (along with she's electric). This is full of energy and renewed strength.
I love this song. It really makes u feel better if you're down because someone is hurting you, "You'll never forget my name"
I love this song, even if you lot don't
hats off to ashowofhands..gutsy considering this song isn't horrible. However, my brother once remaked that the prominent riff in this song (which can also be heard on stay young, albeit slowed down) sounded like something you would hear on the disney channel. It's a nice optimistic song but it's hard to get that comment out of my head as I suppose it's a ridiculously poppy song
"What did it cost you to wear my crown, You dont like me why don't you admit it. I feel a little down today, And I ain't got much to say, But your gonna miss me when I'm not there You know I dont care" This is the best lines of all oasis song !! Really rises me up when I´m sad :D
Noel&Liam say..I Hope, I Think, I Know- "I liked the demo but it´s too pop for me now. It reminds me of the Busscocks but I think its going to be like Hey Now on Morning Glory - the one nobody mentions."
This should of been a single its great when ure sad cos it cheers u up
The album "Be Here Now" is apparently a flop, but i think its great. This song stands out for me as the best, probably is fairly poppy, hence should have been played on the radio more. Great song i say
I don't get why Be Here Now was considered bad...maybe because rock n' roll just couldn't get better after What's the Story Morning Glory...I mean Be Here Now had a lot of great hits
