Yeah, sure, okay, that's true. But this song... it's really nothing exciting. Quite the opposite. And he's not actually singing, you realize. All I have to say is: pathetic. And btw I'm sorry to say this in this particular section where Toby Keith fans will be reading it, but that's what I think.
Funny song! I love it. I love the way he emphasizes lines like, "We talk your grandma down in AlaBAMA*." It's fun.
There are two ways to view Toby Keith after hearing this song. Either he's a bad country singer who's incredibly egotistical, or he's a bad country singer who makes bad jokes about being egotistical in his song. Also, he uses patriotism to sell records.
Well, i love Toby Keith and this song strikes me as good, because sometimes people don't know when to stop.
basically this is a song to your girl. some guys can relate i guess. basically he's talking about always listening to his girl's problems and issues and feels like he can't get a word in. it's all said in jest from my point of view. but i like it.

This song more than any other contemporary country song makes my blood boil. The meaning is obvious... he wants to talk about himself... but instead of just talking about himself, he talks about how he wants to talk about himself... This entire concept is ridiculously egotistical, and completely fucking pointless, esp considering that almost all of his songs are ABOUT HIM!!! Just look at how many of them start with the word "I". Does he really not talk about himself enough? Does he just love the sound of his own voice that much? Besides that, this song is written as though it is for a contest to see who can fill a song with the most trite bullshit possible. Who gives a fuck if you want to talk about yourself toby keith?
I love this song. It's about a man's womanfriend who goes on and on about herself, never once asking her SO if he has anything to say. And he's telling her, "Let's talk about me. I want to talk about me, not you." And I think that's fair. Everyone has something to say about something and they just need a platform, even (like in this case) they have to cut someone off and create one themselves
