Some Swedish Trees Lyrics
One, Two One Two Three Four...
Oh, You don't wanna start like that? You want me to the the..
(That's Not how we've EVER started)

Well you were standing in the door
Well I wondered what you were waiting for
I saw the wild strawberries on the vine
Out of control
Well I was trying to think of something clever
You were saying nothing whatsoever
I saw the berries throw their hooks into the soil
Felt the blood between us turning thick as motor oil
We come from California
The air around you is familiar to me now
You were gazing westward
I was looking at you again (yeah)
Oh, You don't wanna start like that? You want me to the the..
(That's Not how we've EVER started)

Well I wondered what you were waiting for
I saw the wild strawberries on the vine
Out of control
You were saying nothing whatsoever
I saw the berries throw their hooks into the soil
Felt the blood between us turning thick as motor oil
The air around you is familiar to me now
You were gazing westward
I was looking at you again (yeah)

This is one of those songs that never fails to make me smile.
I love the opening of this one.
Me too
Me too
Me too
Me too
The narrator's girlfriend has arrived at his door. The narrator is looking at her and he is in love. He can also see the strawberries behind her with his peripheral vision, and the strawberries look even more beautiful while he's smitten. Everything looks more beautiful when you're in love.
I love this song, but I wish it were longer. This song needs another verse and I need to hear the part from "We Come From California," to the end at least a 2nd time in the song. So many Mountain Goats songs are just so short and I love them but wish they just had one more verse or something
