I was childish and unfair
To you, my only friend
I regret, but now it's too late
I can't show you any more
The things I've learned from you
'Cause life just took you away
I'm asking why
I'm asking why
Nobody gives an answer
I'm just asking why
But someday we'll meet again
And I'll ask you
I'll ask you why
Why it has to be like this
I'm asking you why
Please give me an answer
Many years and stupid fights
Till we accept to see
How it was and it'll always be
Why it has to be like this
Why we don't realize
Why we're too blind to see the one
Who's always on our side
I'm asking why
I'm asking why
Nobody gives an answer
I'm just asking why
Just tell me why
Why it has to be like this
That the good ones disappear
I'm asking you why
I'm asking why
I'm asking why
Nobody gives an answer
I'm just asking why
I'm asking why
To you, my only friend
I regret, but now it's too late
I can't show you any more
The things I've learned from you
'Cause life just took you away
I'm asking why
I'm asking why
Nobody gives an answer
I'm just asking why
But someday we'll meet again
And I'll ask you
I'll ask you why
Why it has to be like this
I'm asking you why
Please give me an answer
Many years and stupid fights
Till we accept to see
How it was and it'll always be
Why it has to be like this
Why we don't realize
Why we're too blind to see the one
Who's always on our side
I'm asking why
I'm asking why
Nobody gives an answer
I'm just asking why
Just tell me why
Why it has to be like this
That the good ones disappear
I'm asking you why
I'm asking why
I'm asking why
Nobody gives an answer
I'm just asking why
I'm asking why

This song is all about regret and longing for a lost friendship. The singer acknowledges that they were childish and unfair to their friend and now regrets their actions. However, it's too late to make amends because their friend has passed away or is no longer in their life.
The singer is filled with questions and wonders why their friend had to go and why nobody can provide an answer. They anticipate a future reunion where they will finally have the opportunity to ask them why things turned out the way they did.
The song also has a theme to it about not appreciating the good people in our lives until they are gone, and the singer questions why people are often blind to the ones who are always there for them.
i can relate to this. very well-written
that is the golden question for all... why?
I guess this song is about a protagonist's friend who has passed away. But might also have been a lover. He has not realised until now that he has lost a very good friend, maybe the only true friend he has ever had. It also seems to me that he regrets having not appreciated this friendship during his friend was alive. He's sad, has a guilty conscious and feels alone 'Nobody gives an answer'...
I also feel that the protagonist is fed up with life in general 'How it was and it'll always be Why it has to be like this'. There is no hope for him left and he just asks 'why' in a hopeless attempt to understand life and death which life always brings about in its end.
I think why the good one in Me why it disapear nobody answer and I dont understand because I dont look into myself I always look to other and why the good thing in you disapeared
I think Michael Cretu was inspired to write this song as a reflection on his divorce from his wife, Sandra. They were married for over 18 years and raised kids together. Parts of this song allude to reflections on why a marriage failed.
"I was childish and unfair To you, my only friend I regret, but now it's too late I can't show you any more The things I've learned from you..."
"Many years and stupid fights Till we accept to see How it was and it'll always be Why it has to be like this Why we don't realize Why we're too blind to see the one Who's always on our side..."
"Just tell me why Why it has to be like this That the good ones disappear..."
Maybe is about the relationship from Michael Cretu with his father after dying
