There are some references to 50's rock n roll like Chuck Berry or Buddy Holly, which is a huge influence on AC/DC, as they have said in numerous interviews. "Be Bop A Lula" is a 50's rockabilly song by Gene Vincent. "Blue Suede Shoes" is a 50's rock n roll song first recorded by Carl Perkins. The first verse describes a typical friday night for teens and young adults in the 50's: picking up your girl in your 50's Chevy (a popular reference in those days), going to rock n roll dances, high energy dancing (and a ballad or two) all night long. The line about blowing up your video is a yearning for the simpler, stripped down music of early rock n roll. It's a nostalgic view of rock music as opposed to the image- heavy, hair metal of the mid to late 80's.
