The song is obviously about Angus and the boys lamenting about the hard road they'd had on the road up to the point he album made.
They were poor ("I got holes in my shoes, I got holes in my teeth, I got holes in my socks, I can't get no sleep") amd they just wanted to make it big.
Bon and the boys dream takes on an "I told you so attitude with the lines, "Just you wait - One of these days see me driving round town in my rock 'n' Rolls Royce with the sun roof down, my bottle of booze No summer time blues, shouting out, "Look at me" In my rock 'n' roll voice" and even going so far as to tell their next door neighbor, "Hey hello Howard, how you doin'? I love the beginning of this song, and I love the song period. They were always writing songs about being on the road and being famous and being rich...it's great. I love the "I got holes in my shoes, I got holes in my teeth, I got holes in my socks." Some of their lyrics were just hilarious. They always wrote about how great they were gonna be, and how great they were, but their overly pompous attitude towards theirselves always showed that they weren't taking themselves that seriously, which was and is a refreshing change for a band.
My favorite part of the song: "Hello, Howard, how you doin', my next door neighbour? Oh, yeah...Get your fuckin' jumbo jet offa my airport!"
