Even Worse Lyrics
Could I be right?
This is a fight
We can’t give up, we can’t care
About God
About the Devil
About the top, the bottom or the middle
Weak to believe, weak to conceive
A concept ‘cause it’s comforting
But you should’ve realized this in not your right
It’s more like a trial
This is not your purpose
This is not why you were born
Sickening your devils
Even worse…
Coming alive, being contrived
Two things that are separate, independent
But you lied, tied it together
Test it out on the future
Picking of sides, product of your fight
Now the planet divides
This is not your purpose
This is not why you were born
Sickening your devils
Even worse, your gods
Go ahead and decide
For everyone what the right thing is
Just keep self-destruction
Because you know just what is right
Could I be right?
This is a fight
I can’t give up, I must share
About truth, it’s fundamental
And the only thing that’s real
This is not your purpose
This is not why you were born
Sickening your devils
Even worse, your gods
This is a fight
We can’t give up, we can’t care
About God
About the Devil
About the top, the bottom or the middle
Weak to believe, weak to conceive
A concept ‘cause it’s comforting
But you should’ve realized this in not your right
It’s more like a trial
This is not why you were born
Sickening your devils
Even worse…
Two things that are separate, independent
But you lied, tied it together
Test it out on the future
Picking of sides, product of your fight
Now the planet divides
This is not why you were born
Sickening your devils
Even worse, your gods
For everyone what the right thing is

Because you know just what is right
This is a fight

come on, no one has said anything about this beautiful song... Pressure 4-5 is the shit, they have been for a while now..
Pretty sure this song is addressed to the shepherds across the world. Your men of renown, local and world leaders, celebrities, stars, idols. People who "lead" politics and culture (culture including both secular and religious aspects).
The first verse:
"Could I be right This is a fight We can't give up, we can't care About God About the Devil About the top, the bottom or the middle Weak to believe, weak to conceive A concept, cause it's comforting But you should of realized this in not your right It's more like a trial”
I feel addresses the illusion of security and the comfort of being led so as to avoid hard decision making and accountability for consequences thereof.
Which is more or less what is promised by your "shepherds".
It expresses the "damned if you do and damned if you don't" frustration of engaging in politics, both governmental and culturally. If you show concern, you are mocked and humiliated. If you don't you are mocked and humiliated.
It expresses that ultimately, our shepherds are dividing us by presenting us with two objectively opposing options (across all topics) and then condemning both parties, giving fuel to each in order to perpetuate the division. They play both sides of the fence.
And then it goes on to point out that leadership and it's freedoms and luxuries, privileges, are not a divine right, but more like a trial to show the world the fruit of their soul. What they would do, given the authority and power to do what they will. If you would exalt yourself above God, to be as God, to rule over the earth, then you are given authority to condemn yourself, as your flaws and iniquity will be put on display before the whole earth and judged by everyone.
I can't recall which book, but I'm relatively sure it is Enoch, discusses this. That rulers are permitted their position to show the world what is inside their hearts. Paraphrasing, but I believe it is described as the role of the watchers and their fall, as they leave their position and begin to illicitly rule over and prey upon mankind.
The song goes on to explain "this is not your not your purpose, this is not why you were born. Sickening your devil, even worse your God."
I can't really tell if this is directed at the rulers or the ruled.
It seems like he is reproving the masses, telling them they weren't born to be divided, to fight each other as they are instigated and led to by their rulers and their propaganda. That it is sickening to both our the shepherds who hate us, and our God who loves us.
On the other hand it could be he is reproving the rulers, who were not created to rule over us, but to watch over us. That their transgression in doing so sickens both what is most sacred to them, and what they despise most.
I think this fits the narrative of Genesis, where Satan loved God and was most loved by God, until the creation of man, where he saw us as flawed and evil, and resented the fact that God demanded he offer reverence to man, who was as the devil to Satan, the perfect one, ironically enough.
Satan the goes on to rule over the world in an attempt to make his case that man is unworthy of his reverence, and the love of God, by leading them to sin and teaching them of war and murder, lust, greed, and so on. He was to be a cherub to guard the gate of the garden, but left his post and became the snake in the garden. So to speak. Again, roughly paraphrasing.
I'm sure this song isn't exactly religious, but I think these themes are echoed throughout, expressed against the religious, secular and political rulers.
It goes on to explain that being alive and being contrived are not synonymous, and the concept thereof is indoctrination, not fact.
Indoctrination that is tested on the kids. The future.
In other words, the rulers concrete their rule by indoctrinating and grooming children, who are naive and none the wiser. They raise the next generation to hate the last, and lead the last to hate the next. Cementing the world division indefinitely.
After the chorus again, he goes on to goad them, "go ahead and decide, For everyone what the right thing is Just keep self-destruction Because you know just what is right"
He sees this is self-destructive and not sustainable, and after trying to correct them to no avail, tells them to go ahead and suffer the consequences of their actions.
This is very evident in a ton of politics, especially today. Politicians and Cultural leaders perpetuate ideals and ideologies that by nature cannot proliferate. They encourage behavior that discourages propagation. They push people to extreme action that causes their own demise.
One example would be officials gathering people in cities with the promise of work and fortune, amenities, and security, and then making the cost of living so high everyone becomes reliant on subsidies to survive, owning nothing or very little.
They are living in concrete cubicles unable to grow their own food or dig their own water wells or gather resources from their environment to build their own homes, and thus rely solely on what scraps they are given by their rulers.
And then, as seen in 1900s Europe and Asia, they use these people as an army to assault the rural countryside for resources and property. But while this works in the short term, almost everyone left subsequently starved to death as they killed all the farmers who knew how to raise animals and crops. This caused economies to collapse and nations to fall.
I think this verse expresses the resignation that we've been here before and we have seen the outcome. And if you won't listen to reason, you will have no choice but to hear and feel the inevitable consequences. Go ahead.
To add to the last point made, these are typically divided cultures, rural and urban, conservative, liberal, democrat, republican, secular and religious, communist, individualist, socialist, capitalist, old and young, ect ect.
