The song is probably AC/DC's strongest attempt at writing a true satanic song. They toyed with satanism for years and at 1:22 Bon clearly says "Lucifer" backwards while flashing those devil horns (in the video). It's to be interpreted as polar opposite to the Christianity.. You know what I mean.. I say white you say black sort of thing.

Angus and Malcom Young said that they got the idea for the phrase from seeing a show once for a band that was doing real badly. The audience kept booing them so finally the lead singer said "What do you want, fucking blood?!!" So it stuck in their heads and they twisted the phrase around, and that's how we have "If You Want Blood, You Got It". What's interesting is how this song came after AC/DC's live album of the same title.
To me this song about the commitment the band have to putting on a great show and giving absolutely everything they've got to entertain their audience. Watch the band live and you will see what I mean.
This is the greatest song ever written by the group. The opening with drums and guitar is memorable. Mr. Bon Scott delivers an astounding tune to the song. Everytime I hear it I go crazy. Because IF YOU WANT BLOOD, YOU GOT ITTTTTTTTT.
