Gone Shootin' Lyrics
Feel the pressure rise
Hear the whistle blow
Found a ticket of her own accord
Yeah I don't know
Packed her heart in a travelling bag
And never said bye bye
Somethings missing in the neighbourhood
All the cryin' eyes
I stirred my coffee with the same spoon
Do a favourite tune
Gone shootin'
My baby's gone shootin'
Wrap yourself around
Like a second skin
Packed her favourite bag
But she could never win
I took her number in another town
She took another pill
She was runnin' in overdrive
A victim of overkill
She never made it past the bedroom door
What was she aiming for?
Gone shootin'
She's gone, gone gone gone
Gone shootin'
My baby's gone shootin'
Lil' child
Gone Shootin'
I thought that she wouldn't even know
Gone Shootin
hey look out, look out, look out, look out!
Gone shootin
She's shootin heroin!
Gone shootin
She's shootin loaded
She's gone, she's gone, she's gone, she's gone
Gone shootin
I'm gonna have to get a gun
Look out, look out
She could have anyone
She sure is loaded
I used to love her so
Hear the whistle blow
Found a ticket of her own accord
Yeah I don't know
Packed her heart in a travelling bag
And never said bye bye
Somethings missing in the neighbourhood
All the cryin' eyes
I stirred my coffee with the same spoon
Do a favourite tune
My baby's gone shootin'
Like a second skin
Packed her favourite bag
But she could never win
I took her number in another town
She took another pill
She was runnin' in overdrive
A victim of overkill
She never made it past the bedroom door
What was she aiming for?
She's gone, gone gone gone
My baby's gone shootin'
Lil' child
Gone Shootin'
I thought that she wouldn't even know
Gone Shootin
hey look out, look out, look out, look out!
Gone shootin
She's shootin heroin!
She's shootin loaded
She's gone, she's gone, she's gone, she's gone
Gone shootin
Look out, look out
She could have anyone
She sure is loaded

this song makes me sad sometimes. I think it reflects on how his girlfriend was unhappy, and her misery drove her to drugs, which led to overdose or suicide. Very sad. A lovely classic early Bon Scott song though. Love those bluesy guitars!
Great song! didnt reely know the meaning untill now. Its one of my dads favourite songs so it always reminds me of him:-)
this is my most favorite song by AC/DC it is the song that got me hooked on em...even though it is sad knowing about his girl on an overdose but the tune is plain great
its about a heroin addiction, witch leads him to break up with her.
yeah this song kicks ass. I first heard it on the movie Beavis and Butthead, and I thought that sounds like the one and only AC/DC
heyjude55, I heard this from Beavis and Butt-head movie also. I first noticed it on the "Powerage" album, and i never knew i had this song. Great song.
great song
Yeah, herion addiction as previously stated. Seems to be a woman that is so addicted that she's unwilling to give it up for a new opportunity (in another town)
Great song
So ironic. How the band must have felt about this song afterwards. Nothing but highest regards though. Rest in peace, Bon.
