the song tells about trying to give everything you have to someone you care about- but they don't know what they even want. they just dont pay attention to you and your actions go unnoticed...
this song is really good - and when he says checkmate - gives a thumbs up very nice - aulstrailian accents are nice! and the meaning of the song is great too
I agree with eyetimebomb..........I think this song is about a guy trying to get the girl that he loves or cares about a lot by doing everything possible but she doesn't know exactly what she wants from him or she isn't noticing him and what he is doing

First of all, I gotta say, Serial Joe is honestly an awesome band. Hearing Mistake a few years ago, in Wisconsin, is a suprise, because you dont usually hear them. but anyways, this song means so much to me, because i listen to it all the time and it like explained my ex boyfriend and my relationship, while we were together in some ways, so it's one of those songs for everyone. It explains a lot, but yet doesnt come straight out to the point of it, i guess that's why i like it so much.
Yah, i love this song. i heard it years ago and was so surprised and thrilled to find out that they were teens my age! this is a great song too with a great meaning....more power to Serial Joe

i love them. i heard them for the first time a few years ago when mistake came out and from then on..yep..i love em.
but no one here knows who the hell they are, which sucks. this is one of those situations where i'd love to be a canadian. i'm in america, tennessee, no less... but ryan's voice is incredible, all the guys are so amazing. and this song will always be sentimental and nostalgic for me because it was the first i heard from them. i haven't heard any of their new stuff, but i'm going to stop being lazy and i WILL download it all if i can find it.

where are you, mourning?...i'm in TN...i know who they are...i LOVE serial joe...they're awesome...i loved "mistake" when i first heard it...i love their music...but i can't find CD's of theirs here, can't find downloads of their stuff...and i REALLY don't wanna pay 10 times the price for the CD's b/c they're imports...it's just wrong...they SO should release another song in the US.

so seriously, where did they go, im from the UK and i really liked the few songs i could get hold of this band back in i dunno, 2002 or something. and they had a website and everything and now its all i gone, i mean i guess they broke up and stuff, but its strange. this song is good though, the first i heard and probably the most mature out of the ones i ever heard.

This is a great song, it's too bad Serial Joe have been forgotten about. I guess it's about a dude in a troubled relationship who's trying to please his girl but she's confused and doesn't know what she wants yet.
