swing low in dark glass hour
you turn to cover
see it turn to dust
move on a stone dark night
we take to flight
snowfall turns to rust
seam in a fusing mine
like a nursing rhyme
fat man starts to fall
year in a hostile place
i hear your face
start to call
and if you think that i've been loosing my way
that's because i'm slightly blinded
if you think that i don't make to much sense,
that's because i'm broken minded
but don't keep it...
inside
if you believe it
don't keep it all inside
strong words in a ganges sky
i have to lie
shadows moves in pairs
ring out from a bursied postcard
in the shooting yard
looking through the tears
out of the black slate time
we move in line
but never reach an end
fall in a long stray town
as the ice comes down
rivers start to bend
and if you think that i've been loosing my way
that's because i'm slightly blinded
if you think that i don't make to much sense,
that's because i'm broken minded
but don't keep it...
inside
if you believe it
don't keep it all inside
you turn to cover
see it turn to dust
move on a stone dark night
we take to flight
snowfall turns to rust
like a nursing rhyme
fat man starts to fall
i hear your face
start to call
that's because i'm slightly blinded
if you think that i don't make to much sense,
that's because i'm broken minded
but don't keep it...
inside
if you believe it
don't keep it all inside
i have to lie
shadows moves in pairs
in the shooting yard
looking through the tears
we move in line
but never reach an end
as the ice comes down
rivers start to bend
that's because i'm slightly blinded
if you think that i don't make to much sense,
that's because i'm broken minded
but don't keep it...
inside
if you believe it
don't keep it all inside

To me this song speaks of a good time turned bad (see it turn to rust), and a struggle to come to terms and accept what has come to pass for the lyric writer.
After looking at the phrase "Strong words in a ganges sky, I have to lie, Shadows move in pairs" it strikes me that the there is allusion toward imprisonment, perhaps a reference to where prisoners are shackled together, and inmates keep themselves to themselves.
A second experience seems to be born in the later words of the song, where the songwriters speaks of being broken minded, and to myself that speaks of mental illness, so where I have mention imprisonment above, it could be that patients of an aslyum are known to pair together in a smoking area.
Means nothing. Levi wanted a Pumpkins song for an advert.....were refused permission so got someone to mimic the grunge sound and lyrics.
Still a fucking ace song :) a local band covered this in December at a battle of the bands compo. They were fab but lost :(
I love the new "live and acoustic" version from Rays solo record. Great voice!
Awesome song !
