I want to live
I want to give
I've been a miner
For a heart of gold
It's these expressions
I never give
That keep me searching
For a heart of gold
And I'm getting old
Keep me searching
For a heart of gold
And I'm getting old

I've been to Hollywood
I've been to Redwood
I crossed the ocean
For a heart of gold
I've been in my mind
It's such a fine line
That keeps me searching
For a heart of gold
And I'm getting old
Keeps me searching
For a heart of gold
And I'm getting old

Keep me searching
For a heart of gold
You keep me searching
And I'm growing old
Keep me searching
For a heart of gold
I've been a miner
For a heart of gold

General CommentI play guitar and harmonica. This is the first song I learned to play on harmonic. When I play this song I don’t think to deeply about the lyrics and pick out each individual word line and phrase I just know the how I feel when i play it. I always feel like I’m searching but never quite achieving that heart of gold. For me it’s a personal thing.
My own heart of gold I’m searching for. Another great Neil Young song that stirs emotions in people and it really doesn’t matter what the writers meaning was when it was written. Good music makes us feel
    That’s what’s important .
