In the shell of a childish story about playing outside, he is afraid that his best friend is doing something dangerous, that can make her "crash" and "make a horrible mess." He pretends that he can talk to her while she is in the air and that what he tells her can bring her to saftey. But if it can't he has no reason to be alive.
This song makes me want to spin around in circles in a grassy and/or wheat field. It just has that childish, mercurial feel to it. Very meaningful.
