its a song about how fucked up society is and how it produces fucking jesus freaks who dont think, he is also wondering what it would take to reverse this fact
It drives me nuts when people think science and religion don't go together at all. If people were intelligent enough to realize that if a religion were true then science would be completely right, just it would be composed of/made by the God of the religion.

it is about religion from the perspective of the clergy people being a bunch of mad scientists. their turning all these people into zombie followers. interesting combining science and religion. other opinions would be great.
I completely agree Qotsa, who the fuck is to say that God didn't create humans simply by creating the basics for everything and letting it evolve?
It would make sense that they went together if everything that certain religions were based upon (for example, Christianity), didn't oppose everything that science is.
