Grace Of God Go I Lyrics
lookin down through tide of no return,
is a field where the crops no longer grow.
parched is the land, strangled and bedamned,
therefore the grace of God go I.
down beside where the riverbed sleeps,
is a man not knowing what he should feel.
mocked by the wave that beats the water's edge,
therefore the grace of God
therefore the grace of God
therefore the grace of God go I.
if i ever harked another like thee again,
i would drown myself beneath your name.
lost was the child we all once did hide,
therefore the grace of God
therefore the grace of God
therefore the grace of God go I.
is a field where the crops no longer grow.
parched is the land, strangled and bedamned,
therefore the grace of God go I.
is a man not knowing what he should feel.
mocked by the wave that beats the water's edge,
therefore the grace of God
therefore the grace of God
therefore the grace of God go I.
i would drown myself beneath your name.
lost was the child we all once did hide,
therefore the grace of God
therefore the grace of God
therefore the grace of God go I.

I too love this song... but I'm pretty sure the lyric should be "There, for the grace of God, go I". A contraction of "there but for the grace of God go I".
Anyway, awesome song.
This song is so powerful! its about the famine

This song is awesome. I love punk, and i was suprised to hear this song on the album. It's really powerful. I Love Flogging Molly!
once again, i love this song. I have dubbed it their saddest one. Partly because of Dave singing by himself gives it i don't know more emotion. Funny thing though, in the cd pull out booklet thing, whatever you want to call it, they said the music, was created by blah blah blah, shouldn't it say tune? or something? and why did they need all seven for it? i don't know i thought it was weird
I like this song but it could have used even one instrument to go along with it
naw, The acapella-ness is good. sad song but I love it.... it's about the famine
Yes, it is "There for the Grace of God" not "therefore"
Yeah, this song appear to be about the famine.
However, the the line originally is "There, but for the Grace of God Go I." which actually originates from the persecution of protestants in England. The neighboring Irish later adopted the phrase.
