what??!?!?!?! this song has an amazing feel to it... just the beginning is messed up with the whacked out drum solo and all... their drummer like broke his neck so he couldn't drum and he quickly learned to program a little drum machine... the hi-hat sounds absolutely AMAZING, but then Copeland always had a knack for a good sounding bass drum/hi-hat rhythm...
I think this is the worst remake ever.
yeah i heard it for about 20 seconds and changed it, they took a shit on it biggtime. just my opinion yell at me all you want
I didn't even like the original all that much. "Don't Stand..." and "Dedoodoo dedadada" (or whatever the hell it's called) are the weakest tracks on the Zenyatta Mondatta album and are the only two that I skip through when listening to that album.
I don't really like the hits of the Police, I've always liked their non-single album tracks and rarities from the box set more. Songs like "Driven to Tears", "Lowlife", "Visions of the Night", "Next To You", "Too Much Information", "When the World is...", "Omegaman", "Canary in a Coal Mine", etc... are far superior to their hits, imo.
I'm just listening to this remake...and it has nothing from Police's ...let's call it charm... in fact, the best thing about this song it that Sting gives an enormly deviant smile in the videoclip :-P it makes me laugh everytime, that smirk always gets me, try and watch it
