Not sure what the comments above are supposed to be about, but to me this song represents someone who has always been fearful of falling in love, and they finally meet somebody. And at first, she's afraid to give in because of everything in the past ("Ain't it strange when your feeling things you shouldn't feel "), but she can't explain all these feelings and is overcome by them ("Oh, I wish this could be real").
I can sadly relate to this song a LOT!
I think that this song is basically about two people who are in love and its like a romeo and juliet forbidden love story. they both love each other but their love is forbidden they know that they cant be together but they will never stop loving each other, she feels that he is the only person that she can let into her life and drop her barriers to but there is circumstances that mean they cant be together.

i agree that this song is about both people having feelings for one another but are totally unable to do anything about it. the circumstances all go against them and no matter how many times she tries to stay away from him he always seems to come back into her life and sets her free,away from all these worries.
