Q&A
A Plain Morning Lyrics
It is yet to be determined,
but the air is thick,
& my hope is feeling worn.
I'm missing home,
& I'm glad you're not a part of this,
there are parts of me that will be missed.
And the phone is always dead to me,
so I can't tell you the temperature is dropping
& it feels like
it is colder than it ought to be in March
& I still have a day or two ahead of me
till I'll be heading home,
into your arms again.
And the people here are asking after you.
It doesn't make it easier.
It doeasn't make it easier to be away.
I'd like to hire a plane.
I'd see you in the morning,
when the day is fresh.
I'm coming home again.
It's warmer where you're waiting.
It feels more like July.
Ther's pillows in their cases
& one of those is mine.
And you wrote the words I love you,
& sprayed it with perfume.
It is better than the fire is
to heat this lonely room.
It is warmer where you're waiting
It feels more like July.
but the air is thick,
& my hope is feeling worn.
I'm missing home,
& I'm glad you're not a part of this,
there are parts of me that will be missed.
And the phone is always dead to me,
so I can't tell you the temperature is dropping
& it feels like
& I still have a day or two ahead of me
till I'll be heading home,
into your arms again.
And the people here are asking after you.
It doesn't make it easier.
It doeasn't make it easier to be away.
I'd see you in the morning,

I'm coming home again.
It's warmer where you're waiting.

It is warmer where you're waiting
It feels more like July.

Absolutely brilliant...I can't form words to describe how much I love him.
Dashboard Confessional!! He always has the best lyrics!!!
actually i was at a dc show a few weeks ago and chris himself explained that the song is about when he lived in florida he had to come up north bc one of his friends went missing and they commenced a search, in the end it didnt end well but one morning while they still had hope of finding his friend he wrote this lovely song:)
considering no one has written about this song yet, i guess i should start out with something more meaningful than "omg! this song is great!!!"..
this is the first dashboard song i ever downloaded/heard and it got me hooked ever since, thereafter. this shit is the root for me, its amazing.
as for the song, its obviously about a guys trip or something of that nature that hes tired of and wants to be over so he can be back with his lady. who cant relate to this? even if the "Trip" is something as simple as going to work.
all the stuff he sees where he is reminds him of home. "and the people here are asking after you, it dosnt make it easier".. perfect example.
this is one of the few dashboard songs that make sense right off the bat. i think he uses some strange style of writing in his other songs because none of them seem to really flow together lyrically, i mean, everything works, but it seems like some lines are out of place, or in the wrong order at times. maybe hes telling more than one story per song..who knows.

good song....."It's colder than it ought to be in march" something about that seems so "real"
This song is amazing. I don't understand how Chris is that good.
its about missing the one you love and how eveyrthing you do no matter howmuch you dont want it to reminds you of them and how despretly you want to get back to them.
once again... AMAZING :) Yea.. i'm with you guys, i have no idea how he does it.. but it does, and he's wonderful.
Pretty much everyone can relate to this song if they want to, because it's one of those songs w/ lyrics that you can adjust to mean what you want them to mean.
I know what he intended for it to mean.. but i consider it my theme song - for a situation a little different than what he's talking about.. i won't bore you w/ the details :), but basically he's great*
I wish I could smile when I listen to this song, but I just can't. Don't get me wrong I love this song, but the person I went home to recently hadn't been waiting for me like Chris'. I hope one day I can come home from school, or something to see my girl just as happy to see me as I am her.
