The Places You Have Come To Fear The Most Lyrics

Buried deep as you can dig inside yourself,
And covered with a perfect shell,
Such a charming beautiful exterior.
Laced with brilliant smiles and shining eyes
And perfect makeup but you're barely scraping by,
But you're barely scraping by.

This is one time
That you can't fake it hard enough to please everyone or anyone at all.
And the grave that you refuse to leave
The refuge that you've built to flee
The places that you've come to fear the most,
Is the place that you have come to fear the most.

Buried deep as you can dig inside yourself,
And hidden in the public eye.
Such a stellar monument to loneliness.
Laced with brilliant smiles and shining eyes
And perfect makeup but you're barely scraping by, but you're barely scraping by.

This is one time
That you can't fake it hard enough to please everyone or anyone at all.
And the grave that you refuse to leave
The refuge that you've built to flee
The places that you've come to fear the most,
Is the place that you have come to fear the most.

everyone pretty much understands the meaning of this song. on the outside you may fake a perfect exterior with intentions of pleasing everyone and be truly miserable in the inside. but you can't fake it for too long.. one day it'll kill you..

& you'll be alone, thus, the place that you have come to fear the most.

this song is awesome. and i think the song is exactly what everyone has said it is. and in a way, most people can relate to the song.

this song is about a girl that seems so perfect. she's beautiful and she's composed, but she's struggling on the inside but she hides it from everyone. deep inside she's hiding this secret, protecting it; but it's killing her inside. she's so lonely in being so hidden and closed off she can hardly handle it anymore. she's kept to herself to the point where she can no longer hide it and everyone knows her secret. it becomes obvious because she tries so hard to hide it.

this is.. the best song... i swear to god it could've been written about me. its about a girl (or boy i guess) who has managed to perfect a shell, an outer cover, to make it seem like they're happy, but they're really just falling apart. she's wearing this thin mask of fake joy, hoping to please everyone else, but she's just burying herself deeper and deeper inside of a lie. her appearance is wonderful, shes perky and sweet, cheerful and energetic, but at the end of the day she goes home and locks herself in her room to slice up her wrists and cry herself to sleep. (k, it doesnt actually refer to cutting, but still...) she tries to break free of the cheerleader exterior/horrible dying interior, but she cant, and she's not even sure if thats what she wants. it gets so horrible that shes afraid of her own self, and what she might (or could) do. .eliza.

DBC is the best and i definitly like what teenagesuicide had to say. it doesnt matter if it goes with the song or not...but if u have any sort is intelligence, its what the song means to you, not what it means to everyine else, it can be intrepreted differently.
