It's Going Down Lyrics
I knew I was being threatened
Do you think it’s worth holding out?
I mean I’ve heard some pretty ugly things about those guys
Ugly stories
Watch them flee
Watch them flee
Rap up
Watch them flee
Hip-Hop hits
And you do it like this
It’s going down
The rhythm projects ‘round the next sound
Reflects the complex hybrid dialect now
Detect the mesh of many elements compressed down
The melting pot of a super-futuresque style
The combination of a vocal caress
With lungs that gasp for breath
From emotional stress
With special effects
And a distorted collage
Carefully lodged between beats of rhythmic barrage
It’s going down
The logical progression on a the timeline
The separation narrowed down to a fine line
To blur the edges so they blend together properly
Take you on an audible odyssey ,now
It’s going down
Put it out for the world to see
LP and X-men to the 10th degree
Nobody in the world escapes
When we melt down the wax in your record case:
Put put put it up
It said it goes like this
And you do it like this
It’s going down
Once again it is
Composed sentences all together venomous
The four elements of natural force
Projected daily through the sound of the source
Everybody on board as we blend
The sword with the pen
The mightiest of weapons
Swinging right from the chin
The elevate of mental states
Long gone with the wind
To defend men for shoddy imitation pretends
It’s going down
Style assimilation readily
Trekking through the weaponry
Of the pure pedigree
Cleverly seeing through whatever is ahead of me
Whatever the weather be
We invent the steadily
It’s going down to sub-terrestrial high
I rhyme regiment that’s calling the shots
Execution of collaborative plots
Ready to bring the separation of style to a stop
It’s going down
A logical progression on a the timeline
The separation narrowed down to a fine line
To blur the edges so they blend together properly
Take you on an audible odyssey ,now,
It’s going down
Put it out for the world to see
LP and X-men to the 10th degree
Nobody in the world escapes
When we melt down the wax in your record case:
It’s going down
X-men ‘bout to blast of world wide
Yo it’s request only
X- men ‘bout to blast of world wide
It’s built from scratch
Album in stores soon
‘Bout to blast off world wide
And you do it like this
It’s going down
Put it out for the world to see
LP andX-men to the 10th degree

wow this song is different, which makes sense since it was done with another band, though i forget who. Does it have anything to do with time running out? hmm maybe not. Whatever it is, this song seems almost tense. i can't decide if i like it yet.
dudes, i think this song rocks! luv the way Mike collaborates with the X-ecutioners on this song. Well, i think this song is about freestyling. When one freestyles, one has to quickly come up with rhymes that go together well. Such as when Mike says, "To blur the edges so they blend together properly, take you on an audible odyssey..." Also it may give it away when Mike says, "Reflects the complex hybrid dialect now, Detect the mesh of many elements compressed down, The melting pot of a super-futureesque style, The combination of a vocal caress, With lungs that gasp for breath..." In addition, remember the people freestyling are battling to see who is the best at rhyming words and such. Haha, or i may just be all wrong in my thinking process. Ne wayz have a good day!
i think this song represents the collision between hiphop and rock as linkin park is known for.
they know it's the future: "super futuresque style"
they even mention "hybrid dialect," their hybrid theory. and their many elements are the talents that the band members contribute:
vocal caress: mike shinoda
lungs that gasp for breathe from emotinal stress: chester bennington
special effects: MR. Joe Hahn on the turntables
distorted collage: brad delson on guitar, phoenix on bass
beats of rhythmic barrage: rob bourdon on drums
the logical progression is the blending of hiphop and rock
the sword and the pen are the differences in vocal attacks by chester and mike
that's what linkin park's all about "ready to bring separation of style to a stop" and that's what's GOING DOWN.
i know this is an X cutioners song, and the meaning can very well include them since they're strictly hiphop and linkin park is more rock.
this song truly captures what's going to happen to modern music in the next few decades. hip hop and rock will collide together, but it will still be difficult to grasp by some some people because it is on the aggressive side. not everyone is willing to turn to aggression. but you can count on linkin park to find the sweet spot of the two styles.
why arent these lyrics the same as the video?
why arent these lyrics the same as the video?
ok wayne static is the guitar player in the video so a2k you wrong-------------------
i love this song but i also want to know why these lyrics are different from the lyrics in the video?? but i love how they mixed hip hop with rap, rock dj and who kows what else. i agree witha2k though about how this rpresents a whole line of fresh new music. i cant wait. ILOVE LINKIN PARK and n extreme, your cool too ;)
this fuckin rocks
This song rocks! I was going to give my own explanation, but if u want a good explanation, look at a2k's - the stuff about references to each band member really makes sense - especially the stuff about chester.
the reason the lyrics are different is cause there are 2 different versions of this song, the video version and the radio edit.
