maybe one ot the most minimalistic ones...but I like how Guy shows his vocal range in that...
Not many comments here, but I think this a magnificent piece of song writing. The meaning (to me) seems very clear. The guy (no pun intended) has recently been dumped by the love of his life and he is at the 'do you still think of me' stage. The lyrics are indeed minimalist, but the implied meaning behind them is heartbreaking: does your new guy love you as much as I did? I'm sure he doesn't - come back to me and everything will be wonderful. The way the song just fades out to nothing is extremely suggestive - it could be either that the love feelings fade away, or (my personal impression) that the guy dies inside, possibly even to the extent of killing himself but without his love even noticing. And with all this (as is usually the case with Elbow) the song itself is beautiful.
I feel like the third part without vocals represents how she continues to talk like he's died, watching on the side
