Drop The World Lyrics
He won the race the judges concluded
He was the better man he had the will to win
A hesitation a one time show or place
His self would not allow he had to be the best
He had denied his urges cause they would of
Drained his strength that battle had been one
With side effects a few
He may have dropped the world
He could not have let us down
Dana has gone away
I hope she's in a better place
She aced the test a grade above the rest
Of the class the class felt the curve a 93%
Was not enough to feed her fix?
She needs that perfect score
The endorphin rush she loved
It would opiate her
She had denied all allegations of her loneliness
That battle had been won with scars still under wraps
She may have dropped the world
She would not let us down
Endorphin rush she loved
She may have dropped the world
He was the better man he had the will to win
A hesitation a one time show or place
His self would not allow he had to be the best
Drained his strength that battle had been one
With side effects a few
He may have dropped the world
He could not have let us down
Dana has gone away
I hope she's in a better place
Of the class the class felt the curve a 93%
Was not enough to feed her fix?
She needs that perfect score
The endorphin rush she loved
It would opiate her
That battle had been won with scars still under wraps
She may have dropped the world
She would not let us down
Endorphin rush she loved
She may have dropped the world

this song is similar in meaning to "lower". its about over-achievers, over achieving (duuuuh) and if the dont, they, i believe, become suicidal??
I believe that its about how people work their asses off to other peoples expectations, living their lives for their fans, families, whomever it may be. Just that doing that will make people unhappy.
this song is musically one of nofx's best i think. not sure what to make of the lyrics though...it'sstrangely positive for a nofx song, unless the whole thing is being sarcastic
anyways, that's what i think...
I dunno how positive it is...I think it's about drug addiction to an athlete, and a top student. ti's basically showing how anyone can be affected by drugs. The first part of the song is about how an athlete had to win a big race, so he stopped taking drugs and won. the second part is about how a top student always go the best marks, but it wouldn't "feed her fix" (for drugs). She need more and more endorphin ( a kind of injection drug). She was lonely, and she won her fight with loneliness with these needle injected drugs, "scars still under wraps". she eventually died i am guessing.
My favourite NOFX song and I love tons of NOFX. thankgoditsmonday has an interesting idea on what the song is about. I personally don't know what it is about but it's still one of my favourites.
OK, im thinking that this song is about addiction, but not to drugs. its about unhealthy over-achievers, that feel they need to be the best at something to cover up for problems in their lives. endorphins are a natural drug that the body produces when you feel youve achieved something or when you exercise. thats my view.
yeah..i just checked on that and you are right about the endorphins part...oh well at least i tried haha
and awesome song and one of my favourites (there is so many) i agree with dsmeathers, it is about over-achievers. sounds great, and like many other nofx songs has much more to offer the deeper you look into it
also i dunno where someone got the idea that endorphins is an "injection drug", it is a chemical produced inside ones body, endorphins naturally block pain signals produced by the nervous system. Infact, scientists believe endorphins help people cope with stress, drug, alchohol abuse etc. ANYWAY, before i get carried away, this song is about (as stated by dsmeathers) over-achievers, nothing more, nothing less.
Maybe the whole 'dropped the world' thing has to with dropping drugs, as in dropped acid.
