Shadow Of A Man Lyrics
Billy came back from Vietnam
Just a shadow of a man
He was a shadow of a man
When he came back from Vietnam
Billy came back from Vietnam
Just a shadow of a man
When he came from Vietnam
He was praying that Agent Orange
On the foliage of the land
Out of 80-gallon cans
Way back in Vietnam
Billy came back from Vietnam
Just a shadow of a man
He was a shadow of a man
When he came back from Vietnam
He married him up a woman that he
Liked to call Diane
Though her true name was Mai-Pan
She changed her name to Mrs. Graham
After two still born babies
Billy said I am just a portion of the man
I was before I went to Nam
Now he drinks and snorts amphetamine
Just as often as he can
He's a shadow of a man
Spent his time in Vietnam
Billy came back from Vietnam
Just a shadow of a man
He was a shadow of a man
When he came back from Vietnam
Just a shadow of a man
He was a shadow of a man
When he came back from Vietnam
Billy came back from Vietnam
Just a shadow of a man
When he came from Vietnam
He was praying that Agent Orange
On the foliage of the land
Out of 80-gallon cans
Way back in Vietnam
Billy came back from Vietnam
Just a shadow of a man
He was a shadow of a man

This a sad song. But definitely my favorite by Oysterhead. Great mix. The best drummer of all time, the best bass player of all time, and a pretty good guitarist.
This song is about a guy that comes back from Vietnam. He does drugs and stuff because he can't cope with the world after the war.
...the drummer is not the best of all time. And Trey is the best guitar player of all time, not 'pretty good.'
Stuart Copeland is an amazing drummer.
This guy in this song has the so called "Post-Traumatic-Stress-Disorder". To us no-euphamisers, thats Shellshock.
This song is pretty straightforward, though I find it funny that you can surmise the character's name is "Billy Graham." Isn't he that evangelical guy?
How do you "surmise" that? Merely because there are many "-am" rhymes? Weak reasoning. And yes, he is a notable evangelist.

two words that shatter, then replace any concepts of the worlds gretest drummer. TIM ALEXANDER.
For anyone else (as I was before wondering) Agent Orange was the thick green slimy substance that was sprayed one the trees and ground in Vietnam to make them stop growing.
A.O. was also used to kill people, mostly thats the reason.
I know that the Agent Orange was a chemical that they sprayed over the jungles of 'Nam to make the plants easier to get through. When coming in contact with the chemical, soldiers suffered long-time effects such as babies being born as lifeless blobs. "After two still born babies."
Copeland is a pretty underrated drummer and he's pretty badass. What he does is completely different than most drummers. Instead of technical drumming, he does his beat and follows with some kick ass fills and hi hat magic. He's one of the baddest drummers ever if you ask me.
