Mr. Oysterhead Lyrics

Come on kiddies dather round
There's a new sensation hittin' town
It's moving slow, low to the ground
It'll pick you up when you're feelin' down

He's an inspiration to us all

When all else has been done and said
Along comes Mr. Oysterhead

I remember back in the day
When music folk had a lot to say
Now I sit, hope and pray
Someone will come along and show the way

He's an inspiration to us all

When all else has been done and said
Along comes Mr. Oysterhead
When all else has been done and said
You best look at Mr. Oysterhead
He's an inspiration to us all

When all else has been done and said
Along comes Mr. Oysterhead

Through the long frustrating years

I think they're just singing about themselves coming along onto the music scene.

I believe that 'Mr Oysterhead' represents a being or band that will eventually come along, or has come, and shape the way we think. 'Mr. Oysterhead' appears to come, or came, at a time when everything is much alike and everybody is copying themselves (much like today).

htinking about hte word oysterhead and the picture onnthe front of the album, obviously itsabout someone or thing with a brilliant mind, unexpectadly probably. an oyster is uly but itcontains a pearl, a pricless thing. the guy on the front is like a robotic face and the doors on his head are open and inside u see a pearl. i think this song is kind of about themselves in a way, but maybe not... very confusing. i guess u can expec confusion when u put claypool and anastasio togeher, the two least coherent lyricists of the modern age (in a good way). its saying that like music used to have meaning and doesn't anymore, also.

I agree with the last two comments.

This sounds like another case of Claypool's ability to write a hook that's really fun to say, and repeated enough times to guarantee you'll be muttering it like a crazed hobo for a week after hearing it. Tommy the Cat, anyone?
