A heart that's full up like a landfill
A job that slowly kills you
Bruises that won't heal
You look so tired, unhappy
Bring down the government
They don't, they don't speak for us
I'll take a quiet life
A handshake of carbon monoxide

And no alarms and no surprises
No alarms and no surprises
No alarms and no surprises
Silent, silent

This is my final fit
My final bellyache with

No alarms and no surprises
No alarms and no surprises
No alarms and no surprises, please

Such a pretty house
And such a pretty garden

No alarms and no surprises (get me out of here)
No alarms and no surprises (get me out of here)
No alarms and no surprises, please (get me out of here)

This is probably my favorite Radiohead song ever. For some reason that i honestly don't know, i find myslef crying everytime the "Bruises that won't heal" line comes up.Musically, the structure of the song is so simple and that's perhaps why its impact is deep. The meaning of the song is obvious, a man who's had nothing but dissapoinments in his life.He finds no meaning in his life and the pain is too big for him to handle. When the line "This is my final fit,my final bellyache" comes up, you don't know whether to feel sad for him because he's dying or relief as he's finally getting rid of his pain. The brilliance of the song is how it uses very few words to draw a picture of the anguish and pain lived by many people in the modren world.
