Fear Lyrics
I see the children, I see all their scars
I fear the monsters that don't know who they are
When did this all start?
When did I fall apart?
When did this all start?
When did I fall apart?
I am too frightened to open my door
I can't stop shaking as I drop to the floor
When did this all start?
When did I fall apart?
When did this all start?
When did I fall apart?
Can you hear me?
Can you help me?
Can you hear me now?
Can you hear me?
Can you help me?
Can you hear me now?
My hands, unfaithful, did not protect me
My voice, transparent, when I need it to scream
What really happened during those nights?
I could not move so I just turned off inside
When did this all start?
When did I fall apart?
When did this all start?
When did I fall apart?
Can you hear me?
Can you help me?
Can you hear me now?
Can you hear me?
Can you help me?
Can you hear me now?
Hear me now...
I fear the monsters that don't know who they are
When did I fall apart?
When did this all start?
When did I fall apart?
I can't stop shaking as I drop to the floor
When did I fall apart?
When did this all start?
When did I fall apart?
Can you help me?
Can you hear me now?
Can you help me?
Can you hear me now?
My voice, transparent, when I need it to scream
What really happened during those nights?
I could not move so I just turned off inside
When did I fall apart?
When did this all start?
When did I fall apart?
Can you help me?
Can you hear me now?
Can you help me?
Can you hear me now?

I Entirely disagree... I believe this song is about sexual abuse. Her voice transperent and her hands unfaithful because she could'nt do anything when she was being hurt.
A Silent Scream for help but she cannot speak up because of the fear and maybe even shame. Very sad song... Could bring the strongest to tears if you ask me
I agree with BellaImmortelle. This song is obviously about sexual abuse, not being able to get help..being too scared to say no, And the effect it has had on her life. A beautiful song, sad, to say the least. I love her voice.
Again, agreed...it sounds like, if not sexual abuse per se, definite abuse. Perhaps even child abuse, as 'I see the children, I see all their scars'. seems to imply relating to those in the same situation, and 'I fear the monsters, I don't know who they are'...could be referring to the fact that an abuser could be anyone; they look just like anyone else. An uncle, father, brother (or even a female abuser). 'Turning off inside' is one way victims of abuse deal with repeated or traumatic experiences. Just my two cents, it COULD mean something else entirely.
Someone is who being tortured inwardly.Perhaps about how horrible they are becoming as a person
she scared to open her mind to the thought of having to change what she thought was her in her own reality. its like Tool's Forty six and 2 song were Maynard sings about evolution.
this is all in my opinion which is whacked out anyway.
I agree with Bella. I think it could also just deal with fear in general.
"I can't stop shaking as I drop to the floor" Seizures are a symptom of post traumatic stress disorder.
I think it could possibly be about waking up from a nightmare. Particularly this part:
"My hands, unfaithful, did not protect me My voice, transparent, when I need it to scream What really happened during those nights? I could not move so I just turned off inside"
Some people, when they wake up from a nightmare, are completely frozen for a moment, unable to talk, scream or move. That's what this song has always reminded me of.
