I Want a Lot Now (So Come On) Lyrics
Livin's no good across the lake from the city
Don't want to live there anymore
Take the car and go to the city
Just like last week and the week before
Gettin sick of school, you know it sure is shitty
I don't know if i can take it anymore
Turn up this slade
On stereo
I know it's late
I don't want to go home
Livin's no good across the lake from the city
Don't want to live there anymore
Take your dads car and go to the city
Just like last week and the week before
I'm feelin' couped up
You know it sure is shitty
I don't want to live here anymore
I know it's late
I said i know it's late
I don't wanna go home
I don't wanna go home
Livin's no good across the lake from the city
Don't want to live there anymore
Take your dads car and we'll go to the city
Just like last week and the week before
Kids are sure lookin' good in the city
I'm gonna go to a rock n' roll show
I know it's late i don't wanna go home
There's no reason
No reason to go home
Livin's no good across the lake from the city
Don't want to live there anymore
Take your dads car and we'll go to the city
Just like last week and the week before
Livin's no good this side of the city
Don't want to live there anymore
We'll take a bridge and go to the city
Won't come back here any more
Don't want to live there anymore
Take the car and go to the city
Just like last week and the week before
Gettin sick of school, you know it sure is shitty
I don't know if i can take it anymore
Turn up this slade

This is definitely one of my favorite Murder City Devils song vocally and instrumentally. The chorus is just explosive, and I can't sing to the chorus, at least not the way he does. I have to make my voice all high... his voice is just so gravelly. Spencer Moody is the man.
Anyhow, lyrically, it seems pretty simple to me. It's about your average rebellious teenage kids, couped up away from the big "rock 'n roll" life. And it seems they're envious too...
"Kids are sure lookin' good in the city I'm gonna go to a rock n' rol show"
It's pretty straight forward.
hah the story of my fucking life. god i love this band
As Spencer (quite drunkenly) said on the version on "R.I.P.", "this song's about growing up in Bellevue and coming to Seattle to see rock n' roll shows". First song of theirs that reeled me in, and am I glad they did.
love this tune. love cancer bats cover more though! so much energy
