I Know It's Gonna Happen Someday Lyrics

My love, wherever you are
Whatever you are
Don't lose faith
I know it's gonna happen someday
To you

Please wait ...
Please wait ...
Oh ...
Wait ...
Don't lose faith

You say that the day just never arrives
And it's never seemed so far away
Still, I know it's gonna happen someday
To you

Please wait ...
Don't lose faith

I used this song in my wedding to replace the traditional wedding march down the aisle. It was rather long, but cool.

This song is absolute perfection, when I listen to it, I get goosebumps every time I listen to it, even when reading it I am overrun by the same sensation, the utter bliss and sadness when listening to this song is mind boggling, It always makes me think, people I know and love are going to die someday, and there's nothing I can do about it, but it's not a bad thing because it will be alright, and in honesty I first listened to this song shortly after finding out about Morrissey's reported cancer treatment, and it made me shed a tear, something that I do so very very infrequently. Day in day out, Morrissey saves me, there is nothing more that can be said.

I don't believe that Morrissey is addressing a potential lover in this song but rather the listener him/herself. Knowing that his audience might be a bit lovelorn, Morrissey offers this osng as a form of consolation. The emphasis on "to YOU" also implies that he himself is doomed never to find love. Aww.

As mentioned by NewKillerStar, the outro is basically "Rock and Roll Suicide". This may be intentional as a reference to Bowie's repeated sentiment at the end of that song - "You're not alone" - the central theme of this song too.

I think this song is for all the loners out there looking for a special someone, but never finding them. I don't think he's talking to a fictitious lover of any sort, but us. He refers to us as "my love" in the most platonic of ways to ease the hearts of those out there who thinks no one loves them. This line "my love" assures them that someone does. He tells us throughout the song, in all the verses and especially in the line "Please wait, don't lose faith", to hang on to this helpless romantic mindset. Because, as the title states, it's going to happen someday.

He's hoping the "right" person for him hasn't given up on love?

I agree with unexplained_lights. he doesnt know who the person is '' wherever you are Whatever you are '' but he hopes that he will find them. I think the way the song starts is amazing. Great song should have more comments.

OMG...this song is brilliant. In "Who Put the M in Manchester" concert he says "I know it's gonna happen someday to ME" in the last verse. I think he wants love but kind at the bottom of his hear, he knows that it's never really going to happen for him...I think he's lost faith...even though ironically he's saying the opposite.

This is THE BEST Morrissey song!!! Beautiful - made me realise why I thought he was so great!!! Because he can write about love and hope and make it sound desperate...
