Dead as dead can be
From what the doctor tells me
But I just can't believe him
prefer the optimistic (one?)
I'm sure of your ability
to become my perfect enemy

Wake up to face me
rise up and show me
someday I'll say you're vacant
and maybe you're better off this way

Leaning over you here
cold and catatonic
I catch a brief reflection
of what you could and might have been
It's your right and your ability
... My perfect enemy

Wake up (again to / why can't you) face me
rise up and show me
Someday I'll say you're vacant
and maybe you're better off this way

Maybe you're better off this way
People better off this way
You're better off this way
2x you're better off this
Maybe you're better off

Wake up (again to / why can't you) face me, come on and
Rise up, (why can't you / I tell you,) show me (show me)
Some day I'll say you're vacant
and maybe you're better off this way

Go ahead and play dead
I know that you can hear this
Go ahead and play dead
I know that you can hear me

General Commenti was fortunate to get to see them for this concert, and i got the mp3's the next day. (i didn't feel bad, i bought the album, saw the concert, etc.). and this song was completely unexpected. it was certainly uhm.. 'harder' than normal a perfect circle, and it's a really good song. but when i heard ashes to ashes then, that one stuck in my head more than this one.

General CommentI can see myself singing this song to myself in the mirror. It's exactly how I feel about myself.

General Commenti love maynard's stuff and this song is totaly amazing. It's a beautiful blend of talent. and it's one of those songs that's just... empowering and really connects to me. i have recited the lyrics under my breath more than once to help me deal with people.

    Tapeworm is:

    Trent Reznor (Nine Inch Nails)
    Atticus Finch (12 round)
    Danny Lohner (NIN/Rob Zombie)
    Josh Fresse (APC/Rob Zombie/Vandels/etc.)

General CommentI also wish there would be a studio version. i have a couple concert version songs but sometimes the quality is so bad that you cant even understand what they're saying. despites the bad quality i think this song is really good.

General CommentWith me it is trying to connect my different personalities.
Makes alot of sense to me. How a personality fades out and is vacant and the main personality thinks it is better this way and the other personalities doesn't want tro wake up and face it.
    *rambles* ;)
