Disappointed Lyrics

Our unsleepable friend
Gets the message on an ill wind
"All your friends and your foes
Would rather die than have to touch you"
TO SAY THE LEAST: I'm truly disappointed

Truly, truly, truly, oh...
Drank too much
And I said too much
And there's nowhere to go - but Down

Young boy - I wanna help you
SEE THESE LINES ? : Truly disappointed

Truly, truly, truly, oh...
Don't talk to me, no
About people who are "nice"
'Cause I have spent my WHOLE LIFE
in RUINS
Because of people who are "nice"
Oh, this world may lack Style, I know
Each bud must blossom and grow, oh...

Young girl, one day you will be old
But the thing is, I love you NOW
Mmm ...

This is the last song I will ever sing (Yeah!)
No: I've changed my mind again (Aaw...)

GOODNIGHT

AND THANK YOU

Don't talk to me, no About people who are "nice" 'Cause I have spent my WHOLE LIFE in RUINS Because of people who are "nice"

I interpret this lyric as being completely fed up with people being fake, making others view them as nice, when in reality, they have caused you so much pain.

'Each bud must blossom and grow', the best line to the song.

Firstly, male friends who's fucked on drugs, young boy 'see these lines' truly dissapointed, could mean lines like wrinkles and lines of drugs..........

Nice might mean dealers who have been described as nice cos there ok but really are scum......moz's own interpretation of it is that people who are nice aren't really... life in ruins, bored with the deal etc....

Hes involved with a young 'un but she's young and it's more about his age and perspective i think. Not about anything like young girls but more about his age associated with it all.

It's so funny how the audience cheers when he says he will never sing again and sighs when he changes his mind. Morrissey taking a sarcastic shot at himself.

"All your friends and your foes Would rather die than have to touch you" TO SAY THE LEAST: I'm truly disappointed

I think that this is just about Morrissey - He's probably 'disappointed' that things haven't changed for him in the way that he had imagined... Even though he was famous, he was still him... On live sets he has sung "All your friends and your foes Would rather die than have to shag you" which ties in with him saying that his celibate periods were not out of choice!

I don't get why this song hasn't gotten more comments. But I gotta say, this is one of my favourite songs.

The little jab at himself is classic. Love it.

It almost sounds like the words were written in a scattered rush- like he actually did drink too much before he wrote it. He just seems to be rambling on about things that bother him- the cruel nature of life, disloyal "friends", getting old, feeling insecure and unattractive, noticing that youth is wasted on the young, etc! An irreverent, fun and cynical song. I LOVE the music on this song- reminds me somehow of my favorite bouncy, jangly doors song Peace Frog.

This was a great note on which to end the album Bona Drag (which I personally liked more than Kill Uncle or Viva Hate).

I always wondered if HIV/AIDS was a sub-theme of this song.

After many sleepless nights ( "unsleepable" ), he gets the bad news from the Dr. "All your friends and your foes Would rather die than have to touch you".

And I think the rest of the song is about reflecting on life up to this point and saying goodbye.

The last part could cynically be seen as 'friends' being relieved when he's done with the debilitating disease, but disappointed when he ends up hanging on for a while.
