He Knows I'd Love To See Him Lyrics

He Knows (he knows)
Or, I think he does
'Cause when I lived
In the Arse of the world

He knows, he knows
He knows I'd love
To see him happy
(Or as close as is allowed)
Oh, 'cause when I lived
In the Arse of the world ...

He knows, he knows
He knows I'd love
To see him happy
(Or as close as possible)
As close as possible
As close as possible
As close as is allowed

Oh, my name still conjures up deadly deeds
And a bad taste in the mouth
And the police - they actually know me
They said :

"You're just another person in the world
You're just another fool with radical views
You're just another who has maddening views
You want to turn it on its head
By staying in bed !"

I said : "I know I do"

He doesn't know ...

xpsychicheartsx has the second part right here, it's about himself commenting on the police search. But I'm not entirely sure who the 'he' is that he's referring to in the first part of the song. But if tallulat says he's read from another source that it's referring to his dad then I believe him. Tell me please, what source did you read that from?

this song has been rumoured time and time again to be about johnny marr

althought it takes a different turn.. the lines about the police are in fact commentary to the police search the police did in his house after he made some comments about margaret thatcher

Maybe it is about Jesus.

Does anyone think this might be about Johnny Marr? I read somewhere that it was... but then I also read from more resputable source that in fact the he of the title was Morrisseys dad. I guess it could be about both, but that's probably wishful thinking on my part.

The song could quite easily be about Marr or Morrissey’s dad; however the line “Cause when I lived in the arse of the world” would suggest that Morrissey is speaking to the chocolate faced window cleaner that saved him from poverty.
