Fripp Lyrics

There's a shark shaped fin
In the water of my dreams
An alligator screams from the depths there
I'd swim with you there
I'd swim with you there, yeah yeah

In the house I once used
There's a psycho on the loose
He's playing with the fuse on the bomb there
I could live with you there
I could live with you there

Bye bye long day
I need to sleep so much
You shine on me
Too much is not enough

On the sheets and pillow case
In my bed for heaven's sake
The devil's dancing until late in my head there
But I could sleep with you there
I could sleep with you there

Always
Always

Bye bye long day I need to sleep so much
Nineteen hours straight
Too much is not enough
Too much is not enough
Too much is not enough
Too much is not enough

Too much is not enough
Undivide your love
Undivide your love

Agree with all above. CW is one of the most under-rated bands ever. Their songs are truly magical and this is one of the best.

I always took this song to mean that all he can do is think about this person he loves but can't have. Even in the worst of nightmares, he'd still be there with her...just to be with her. But basically it's consuming his life and he needs to just sleep and get her out of his mind...but he just can't.

Yep...I think it's kind of a tribute to Robert Fripp as well.

Great songwriting, and all writing, for that matter, is rarely confined to one meaning, even as it is being written. Great writers want the audience to make it there own, find the meaning that moves them, the listener. This song is ultimately about Love - deep, fierce, unrelenting, forever Love. As a tribute to Fripp’s music, or as a tribute to a person, to anything. If one is willing to die, to swim with sharks, to live in a house about to blow or live with the Devil about, but as long as it’s with someone or something they love, that is Love as deep as it gets. You simply can’t express it any deeper than than that. INCREDIBLE song.

Fripp connection: Because the song’s character is thinking like a 21st century schizoid man?

I agree with you ! CW is so unknown, you can't find it anywhere on torrents ! Alternative music fans are missing something here...

I agree, this song especially is beauty. The way the guitars and bass interweave with the light precussion and feedback is amazing to me. Great Band, great song. Lyrically, im pretty sure this is related to Robert Fripp, an amazing guitar player for king crimson.

In my opinion, this song is about being in love with someone who is unstable or schitzo...But even though the relationship is dangerous, and possibly hurtful, the lyricist is willing to commit to that person anyway...

I heard this as written about Robert Fripp, not a woman. It reminds me of Frank Black's "I Heard Ramona Sing." It could just as easily be referential in nature though.

Uh guys it's about Robert Fripp, and how Fripp's music gives what's-his-name (the guy who write the song) comfort in dire times. It's filled with guitar playing in Fripp's style (sustained, compressed notes etc.)

This isn't brain surgery.

aw, ted... a sticker is in order.
